The Learning Environment at the Root of Challenging Behaviours

Before addressing challenging behaviour, examining the classroom environment and determining the coping strategies needed is necessary.

Children's behaviours communicate their needs; if they exhibit challenging behaviours, it can mean their needs are unmet. This interactive workshop identifies strategies that ELCC educators can apply to interpret children’s behaviours and understand what they may communicate about their classroom environment.

Facilitators will lead participants in the discussion to guide them to understand the importance of the environment and how it can positively impact challenging behaviours.
