Atypical development appears when a child is behind or jumps ahead of typical peer progress, in any regard; physical, cognitive, social, emotional or in adaptive life skills.

It is important to pay attention to children whose development is just a little bit different. It is also important to monitor their progress and especially watch those areas in which they may be developing typically but lagging a bit behind their peers. 

This e-Workbook examines the differences between typical and Atypical development as well as possible contributing factors. It challenges users to reflect on their values and beliefs and identify strategies to better support the children and families in their program.
