Duration: 2 hours
Simply stated, an invitation to play in arranging the environment so that it “invites” young children to come to an area in your classroom to explore, investigate, question, examine, participate, touch, feel, and manipulate through as much independent play as the materials can possibly allow. Invitations for learning (often called "provocations") are a great place to begin inquiry-based learning and pedagogical documentation.
This interactive workshop provides educators with hands-on examples of invitations for learning and opportunities to create their own provocations to intrigue or entice children for further investigation. The information gained in this workshop can then support educators to plan next steps for a potential inquiry in their early learning classrooms.
